August 7, Thursday – Annemania

Like a magnet we were drawn to town of Cavendish to see the farm that inspired Lucy Montgomery to write her first book in 1908. Again the tourists were swarming photographing and buying Anne dolls and books. But most of the crowd was made up of families with young girls with an occasional biker couple thrown in. It was a happy place.
From the joy of a rural farm to the coughing up the $62 to cross back to the Canadian mainland on the bridge we headed for our real destination, Nova Scotia. We stopped driven just inside the province at the village of Pugwash, which means “Deep Water” in
Mi'kmaq (Mik’ mac). I really liked the town and the park we stayed in.
